What Is Hydrolyzed Collagen?

Hydrolyzed collagen powder is a source of protein. Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in the body and is a major building block of bones, skin, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Collagen is commonly referred to as "glue." The word "collagen" comes from the Greek word for "glue" (kólla).

Chicken collagen powder is isolated from chickens — specifically, the parts of the chicken that are too tough to eat, such as the joints, bones, and cartilage. This chicken collagen is hydrolyzed to make it easier for the body to absorb.

Smells like socks

Chicken collagen smells like a sock that you would find in the sewer, but it is supposed to be the better collagen. I used bovine collagen for a while, and really enjoyed it. I had zero tendon injuries when on the bovine. This will be my first run with the chicken, but I do not expect any less from a superior produce.

Waiting patiently.

I put the powder in my water flavored with grape or orange Crystal Light. Just waiting to see how my joints feel in a few weeks.

Works for me!

I purchased this item because I had read that collagen helps heal connective tissue injuries. I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for several years now. I have had several types of therapies (tenex, packed red blood cells were the only ones of everything I had that helped) but still have pain issues. In desperation I tried this. I have been taking it for several months now and have noticed that my foot feels better at work than it has in the past (cement floors, 12 hour shifts standing most of the time). I have not had any real pain issues at home since starting this. I add it to my morning coffee (1 cup, once a day with 1.25 teaspoon added). It takes a bit for it to dissolve (I usually mash it against the side of the cup to break it down) but once mixed it leaves no taste. I am actually amazed that this seems to work but as long as it does I will use it. Love that it is in powder form as I hate taking pills. If you have issues similar to mine and nothing else is working you might want to give it a try as it it much less expensive and invasive than other traditional treatments out there for plantar fasciitis.

Hydrolyzed Collagen

It definitely has a stronger flavor of chicken then what I was expecting. Recomend taking it in a cold drink such as O.J. to cover taste.
